Assessment/Observations and Parent Conferences

As a program we use the ASQ-3 which is a set of questions about children’s development.  The ASQ-3 has been used for more than 20 years to be certain that children are developing well.  This screening provides a look at how children are doing in the important areas, such as communication, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving skills.  As a screening tool the ASQ-3 can help identify your child’s strengths as well as any areas where your child may need support.  An ASQ-3 will be completed formally in January by your child’s teacher.  Leading up to the completion of the ASQ-3 in January the teachers will be observing your child and all positive educational experiences and any concerns that they may have.  During the last weeks in January you will be invited in to review the ASQ-3 with your child’s teacher and learn more about the daily learning interactions that your child has.  Little Footsteps has a relationship with the public school community and Early Intervention Services should your child need a little bit of support throughout their “Early Learning Preschool” years.

A “Wrap Up” overview of your child’s year in Preschool will be sent home in June.
